Clot des Llamp Ibiza

Located in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja, Clot des Llamp is a sinuous cove between two small capes- Punta des Jonc and Punta Grossa. Crowned by a peak of 174 metres, a majority of the people that join us on board our boat rental Ibiza compare Punta Grossa with a small ancient castle. Passing this intriguing cape and following the coast line towards the east, we will be lead to the beach of San Vicente.

In the bay of Clot des Llamp, you will find two small beaches that are both practically inaccessible from land due to the imposing cliffs. Do not expect there to be service of any kind! You will only be surrounded by silence, nature, and the crystal clear water that longs for divers to explore it.

Clot des Llamp is one of the few coves of Ibiza where you will be exceptionally protected from the southwest winds. Seeing as how you can basically only visit this tranquil gem by water on board our catamaran Ibiza, the blissful solitude definitely takes this win, beating the abundance of hotels and crowds of tourists.

Anchoring in Clot des Llamp

Although you will not find any buoys at this cove, it is a rather easy anchorage with depths of 10 to 7 metres on muddy and coarse sand bottoms. It is important to note that Clot des Llamp is exposed to winds from the northwest, north and northeast. On days when the wind is received from these directions, we can anchor in any of the two corners- southwest and southeast- that hide this cove. In the south-eastern section, the cliffs will neighbour the anchorage for our Ibiza yacht charter in stable depths of 9 to 8 metres on sand. Do not anchor where there are algae.

Although no buoys will be found at the cove of Clot des Llamp, it is a rather easy anchorage of muddy and coarse sand bottoms with fantastic coverage from southwest winds.

A quiet place, far enough from all the commotion and parties, there is no doubt in mind that everyone will enjoy a night anchored at Clot des Llamp on board our Ibiza boat hire, with nothing but a star filled sky above and the soft rock of the ocean below. Talk about relaxation at its finest!

The beautiful turquoise waters and peculiarly shaped rocks in Clot des Llamp are to be enjoyed by those on board our yacht hire Ibiza.

A cave is sitting on the west corner of the beach, calling your name in hopes of discovery. We recommend only anchoring here on days when the sea is at its calmest. Keep an eye out for the islet located on the east bank. Surrounding it are numerous rocks at sea level, making them difficult to spot quickly.

The ignored lighthouse of Clot des Llamp

From the bay of Clot des Llamp we have sight of the lighthouse of Sa Punta Grossa. Inaugurated on the 15th of September of 1870, its life of lights and shines was short lived, ending in 1916 when the Tagomago lighthouse replaced it.

There is no doubt in mind that everyone will enjoy a night anchored at Clot des Llamp and the tranquility that comes along with this gorgeous hidden gem.

In its time, this lighthouse had the slowest rhythm of all the lighthouses of the Balearic Islands. Its beam of white light reached 15 nautical miles offshore. It warned the sailors of the presence of the rugged coastline of Es Clot des Llamp and the reefs beneath the cliff.

From the bay of Clot des Llamp we have sight of the lighthouse of Sa Punta Grossa, which in the past served to warn sailors of the rugged coastline and the reefs beneath the cliff.

Being one of the most inaccessible places on the Ibizan coast, it is hard to believe that they were able to build a lighthouse in this location. Perhaps it is for this reason that it is in ruins today. Extremely dangerous to walk here, unsafely close to the cliff, it is no wonder why many do not repeat and others suffer vertigo. Of course, this will not happen to those viewing the lighthouse from the water during a boat trip Ibiza. So it goes what one day the human built disappears having only the sea as a faithful witness.
