Our catamaran anchored between Ibiza and Formentera

Once we have sailed for a few hours the skipper will anchor the catamaran at the best and most sheltered beach, usually between Ibiza and Formentera, so our customers can jump in the water and enjoy a beautiful and relaxing swim before lunch on board or at the beach bar in front of where we have anchored. Can it get any better?

Leisure moments on board of our catamaran in Ibiza
This idyllic picture actually shows one of the daily routines that experience our customers of catamaran hire in Ibiza.

Are you having a headache organizing your best friend’s Ibiza hen do? Let us help you with tons of ideas!

When you take one of our Ibiza boat trips, the day passes between cove and cove, turquoise waters and endless sandy beaches by the coast of Ibiza and Formentera. We just need to drop the anchor of the catamaran and enjoy the amazing waters of the Mediterranean. It’s like having a floating apartment whose location we can change at our will. A dream come true.

Also, for the night, the skipper will always look for a cove sheltered from the wind and waves in order to sleep peacefully with the gentle rocking of the Mediterranean. The advantage of anchoring around a small island is that if the wind comes from one side, the skipper will simply anchor on the opposite side in order to obtain the shelter of the island itself.

And we can’t forget about the natural protection offered by many of the coves along the coast of Ibiza and Formentera. Most of them offer an excellent holding. It is usually fine sand, which gives a perfect grip for the anchor of our sailboat catamaran.

We also have the possibility to book a mooring buoy. These mooring buoys are located in three areas:

  1. Las Salinas (Ses Salines), South end of the island of Ibiza
  2. The amazing tiny island of Espalmador (between Ibiza and Formentera)
  3. and Calò de s’Oli, also known as Punta Pedrera, near the port of Savinas in Formentera. From these buoys we can take our dinghy and disembark at the new piers or we can even enter the fish pond (Estany d’es Peix)  and dine at Cafe del Lago, a superb Italian restaurant.

Mooring buoys, from summer 2013 onwards, are no longer free. Its price ranges from 12 euros for boats less than 9 meters in length and 29 euros for vessels over 12 meters. You can call on channel 9 or book your buoy online. For the high season, we recommend booking buoy at least three weeks in advance, especially for Espalmador buoys, which are the most requested ones. Salinas buoys are almost always available as many boats often spend there just the day and then they go to another part of the island for the night since that area is usually affected by traffic waves that can make it uncomfortable. If you have rented one of our ships, the skipper of your catamaran will handle the booking process. You can also do it online from the Balearic government web site.

A bit of body dragging!

A classic tour if we use the mooring buoys of Calo de s’Oli, also known as Punta Pedrera, is visiting the lagoon and dine at Cafe del Lago, a superb Italian restaurant overlooking the pond. In the Estany we can leave the dinghy safely and after dinner take a taxi to Es Caló or Blue Bar south of the island, or toward the area of Italians in Es Pujols, or take a nice stroll to the port of Sabinas is less than five minutes. In Formentera, you will find numerous restaurants and a lively atmosphere but without the extremes of Ibiza.

Also in Mallorca and Menorca are mooring buoys in strategic areas to protect seagrass.
